That's a great news Bobo; perhaps the Lammy Jammy group can consider being part of something bigger and
more differently important than doing the same old scooter rally every year and participate in an early morning ride that that's over by 11am, to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and something other than their own small circle of interests?
The best part of this is hearing the affected kids and parents tell their stories - and learning that the guys on the Harley's tear-up and cry just like scooter boys and girls (modern
and vintage.)
Last year a bunch of sportbike riders raised the most money for the cause.
How great would it be for scooters to take it this year? That fact being shared at the other 37 or so national Ride4Kids might cause some scooterists to get off their butts and do something other than worry about PBR gas. This could even be better than a
Certificate of Street Cred from Patrick.
How about this: Anyone in town* for Lammy Jammy that has the guts to ride their scooter in the midst of 250 or so Harleys and other scary big bore bikes for the escorted (blockers are CHP and local motor officers) route, will have their basic entry fee paid by when they show up in person in Pleasanton on the day of the event? Is that 'real,' enough?
What does the * mean?
That means that if you've done the ride before or are already in the Tri-Valley area, we already expect you there anyways and I'm not arranging for your entry fee to be paid. If you're from San Jose, San Francisco, or other points outside of the Bay Area, and are in town for Lammy Jammy and you show up AFTER SENDING myself or jfredrik a PM saying you're from Modern Vespa and are going to be there - your basic entry fee to participate and get a chance at at the raffle for the new motorcycle or the other goodies will be covered. I'll even get my dealer to kick down some swag and local t-shirts.
You know, for kids!
Just a reminder, I hate kids!
