6/25/2006 Bay Area 'Ride 4 Kids,' benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Kids and families affected were able to do the ride in sidecars. Heard stories from kids and parents of affected kids, on what good the foundation does. Here's how to donate for my next ride with this group: http://www.firstgiving.com/ritchj_sacramento

Three hundred motorcycles, one scooter, and a police escort. It was much like the Rage XX poker run and the neglect of the stop lights and stop signs.

It was great being amongst that many bikes, and hearing someone on the sidewalk say 'Ohhh look at the Vespa!' and point. (I didn't hear 'Hey look there's a black Harley!')

I did hear after the riders meeting, 'I need a flag to find my bike.'

Good: I raised $150, and they earned a total of $41K for the foundation.

Bad: I forgot my ear plugs. 42 miles with big bikes running 'exhaust system free.'

Excellent! My husband is registered for the ride when it happens over here in September. I had not planned on going but then they asked if I would consider riding my Vespa in it so I said ok. I think they are trying to get more scooters involved so guess I will help out. Our page is
http://www.firstgiving.com/karenandtonyjefferson but luckily we still have a few months to raise money. My husband is taking one of the pediatric brain tumor patients in his sidecar and gets to ride at the beginning of the group - last year there were hundreds of motorcyclists and they raised over $194,000 just in this one ride. Unbelievable.
