Hello Everyone,
As much as this may sound like a joke, it's not. I won a 2009 Vespa Scooter valued at 6K. That means I get my choice of any GTS250 scooter that I want. I can also pay the $200 and get the 300 Super.
So, my question here is anyone interested in buying the scooter at a reduced cost and being able to pick out the color?
I'm 6'4 and I am not interested in the scooter.
If no one has any interest it will be auctioned on EBay.
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
BQuick

Congratulations on your win. I posted this on the Southeast Florida scooter group's site as well. Good luck to you.

Better yet, keep it and enjoy the good life on a scooter!!!

Guess what? I got a fever. And the only prescription is...
I gotta have more scooter!

It's in Massachusetts, but I think I can have it delivered anywhere. Final details will come tomorrow.
The scooter thing up here is so short term, tough to allow $6k be tied up in a scooter that you can only use for 4 months or so.
But thanks for spreading the word.
I would like to get as much as possible, but realize I'm not a dealer. The unit will be brand new and have full warrantee, so it shouldn't be an issue get serviced anywhere.
What have people been paying at the dealers out the door for one?

Put it on craigslist as well as ebay. Last year I bought my 2008 GTS 250 from someone who just like you won it. I paid 4K for it. I know great price, but it was purchased in December, which is traditionally not a time that scooters are selling like hot cakes.

Here is some unsolicited but hopefully useful information. Since this is a brand new scooter coming directly from the dealer it has probably never been titled. Instead the scooter will come with a Certificate of Ownership, which the dealer has until someone purchases (or in this case wins) the scooter. Once you take possession of the scooter the dealer will sign over the C of O to you. You then will have to take the C of O to the Dept of Motor Vehicles and apply for a title, which takes as much as a month to receive. If you sell it in the meantime, you will not have a title to sign over to the new buyer. Also, you will be liable for taxes on the vehicle. You are required to report the value of the scooter as income to the feds. However, you will not have to pay sales tax at the DMV.

Four months of riding around Cape Cod and Rhode Island would be sweet. I imagine you won't have too hard of a time selling.

Not quite that site..
Here is the proof:

http://www.jackpotrewards.com/sweepstakes/winners/

If anyone is interested in signing up to this site...Please ask and I can send an invite. We both automatically get $10 if I refer you. They have thousands of contests and they have a great program, where if you shop at major retailers online, you get automatic cash back if you click through to them from their site.
For example, if I want to buy a TV from BestBuy...I go to Jackpot rewards, click on the best buy link and buy the TV. Sometimes we get a deeper discount than just going to the Bestbuy site direct. Then we also get up to 5% back in cash in your account that you can withdraw at anytime.

Heck...I won a VESPA! Some folks of won a million dollars and someone has won 100,000,000.

They don't sell your information or emails...They get their money and promotions from affiliations. But, once a skeptic, always a skeptic.

Plus, I'd take spam for a $6,000 prize any day! Usually I don't get anything for the spam I already got!

$12 a month to be a member. No worse than playing the lottery every week I suppose and plenty of people spend a lot more than that on lotto tickets.
